بناء الكعبة على عهد الرسول

كان النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام في الكعبة المكرمة قد بلغ خمسة وثلاثين عاما من عمره الشريف وكان لم يُبعث بعد، فحدَثت حادثة وكان هو صاحبَ الحَل الذي هدأت به نار فتنة كانت ستشتعل.

قيل إن امرأة جلبت جمرًا وعليه بخور ووضعته قرب الكعبة، فطارت شرارة فأحرقت ثياب الكعبة فوَهن البيت وتداعى، وقيل في سبب تداعيه إن سيلًا عظيما من المياه أتاها فهدمها، وكان البحر قد ألقى سفينة إلى جدة، فتحطمت، فأخذ خشبها، فأعد لسقفها، فتهيأ لأهل مكة بعضُ ما يُصلحها، وكانت حيّة تخرج من بئر الكعبة التي يطرح فيها ما يُهدَى لها كل يوم فتشرع على جدار الكعبة، وكان لا يدنو منها أحد إلا كشّت وفتَحت فاها، فكانوا يهابونها، فبينما هي يوما على جدار الكعبة اختطفها عُقاب فذهب بها. فلما أرادوا الهدم قام أبو وهب بن عمرو فتناول حجرا في الكعبة فوثب من يديه حتى رجع إلى موضعه، فقال: يا معشر قريش لا تُدخلوا في بنائها إلا طيبا ولا تُدخلوا فيه بيع ربا ولا مظلمة لأحد.

ثم إنّ الناس هابوا هدمَها، فقال الوليد بن المغيرة: أنا أبدؤكم به، فأخذ المِعْوَلَ فهدم، فتربص الناس به تلك الليلة وقالوا: ننظر فإن أُصيب لم نَهدم منها شيئا، فأصبح الوليد سالما وغدا إلى عمله، فهدم  الناس معه حتى انتهى الهدم إلى الأساس، ثم أفضوا إلى حجارة خضراء ءاخذٍ بعضها ببعض، فأدخل رجل من قريش اسمه ابن مُطيع عَتَلَةً وهي حديدة كأنها رأس فأس عريضة، في أسفلها خشبة يُحفر بها الأرض والحيطان بين حجرين منها ليقلع به أحدهما، فلما تحرك الحجر اهتزت مكة بأسرها، ثم جمعوا الحجارة لبنائها ثم بنوا حتى بلغ البنيان موضع الحجر الأسود، فأرادت كلُّ قبيلة رفعه إلى موضعه، واختصموا وتفاقم الأمر بينهم حتى تواعدوا للقتال، فقال أبو أمية بن المغيرة وكان أسن قريش: إجعلوا بينكم حكما أولُ من يدخل من باب المسجد يقضي بينكم، فكان أول من دخل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فلما رأوه قالوا: هذا الأمين قد رضينا به وأخبروه بالخبر، فقال: هلموا إليّ ثوبا، فأخذ الحجر الأسود ووضعه فيه ثم قال: لتأخذ كل قبيلة بناحية من الثوب ثم رفعوه جميعا، فلما بلغوا موضعَه وضعَه بيده الشريفة فرضُوا بذلك وانتهَوا عن الشرور، ثم أكملوا بناء الكعبة.
